Summer Break is Over and Fall is on the Way
Hey! Hey! So is is officially the end of summer break and August, and fall is approaching quickly. Fall is my favorite season ever, so I am super excited about that; I mean who doesn't love pumpkin spice everything, sweatshirts, s'mores, bonfires, crisp falling leaves, cooler weather, and Halloween of course?! But with fall on a fast train headed our way, means the end to summer break. I feel so conflicted about that. This summer has been great. Spending all those lazy summer days and late nights with Everly, our fur babies, and family, have been more that nice.
The school where I work decided to start later in August this year, and the extra two weeks was the best idea ever! We have now had three teacher workdays and tomorrow marks the first day with students. I still have that first day teacher anxiety, which is insane since this is year thirteen. But I think all teachers experience that to some extent. Everly is back to spending her days with Gigi (my mom) while Mommy and Daddy work. It is so bittersweet. I have missed her so much in the last few days; I guess it is a good thing I love my career.
Let's recap the last couple months. So in July, we celebrated Everly's first 4th of July, which she loved! The fireworks amazed her! She loved them! She also learned to walk faster and faster, which kept us on our toes. July was also the month I began my own journey for my health (physical and mental). On July 1, I began jogging nearly every single night. At first, I was not a fan, but it was something I have always wanted to do and it became easier and easier. After a couple weeks, I began to look forward to it. It helps me relieve stress and relax. It has also helped my waistline. Haha! I am down 11 pounds and 11.5 inches. My anxiety is getting better and emotionally, I feel more balanced. Now to just keep at it now that school is starting.
In August, Everly began practically running and then learned to climb up on everything...that is loads of fun for Mommy and Daddy...I hope you are sensing the sarcasm here. We celebrated her first "Forever Family Day." On August 13, 2017, Ohio time, we met our sweet girl for the very first time. We celebrated by taking some photos of Everly in her Yukata (kimono). I am convinced there is nothing more beautiful than a Japanese princess in her Japanese clothing. We also went to our first high school football game with my cheerleaders. Everly wasn't too sure about it, but she will get back into the swing of things soon.
Everly is officially saying more words, but only when she feels like it. She is little miss independent. She says or has said, Mama, Dada, Papa, Nana, Gigi, dog, bye-bye, all gone, bubble, but her favorite thing is to point and say uhhh. Haha! :)
We will update again soon, especially since fall, Halloween, and Christmas are some of my most favorite times of the year! Until then, enjoy my photo overload below.
